About Us

To make our life stories short:

Glenn founded the gym in 1982, achieving his dream to own a gym in his home town.

Karen bought into the gym in 1989, after spending 9 years working for Pacific Nautilus in Bellevue.

Glenn was an All-American Javelin Thrower with a full ride scholarship to Southern Methodist University.

Karen played Volleyball and is in the Portland State University Hall of Fame. She earned her certification with the American College of Sports Medicine as an Exercise Physiologist in 1991.

Both competed in bodybuilding from 1984-1992, winning lots of trophies and remaining undefeated in the couples' competition.

We love working out - always have and always will. We enjoy helping others. We strive for constant improvement and are always moving forward. It's all work, to feel good.

Our Family

Doc Von Derwin & Jace Atom Derwin

Both still love to workout and put in their time at our gym when they lived at home.

Doc set a world record in the bench press at age 17. Currently lives in Canby Oregon and is a Technical Project Manager for Fractal Analytics, a tech consulting company based out of New York City.

Jace currently lives in Colorado Springs with wife Brittany and their 3 children. Jace is the Head of Performance for Volt Athletics in Seattle. Jace also provides a variety of remote training options at www.axioscoaching.com.
